Faux fur Maintenance

December 4th, 2008 by admin

Owning a fur – original or faux calls for some regular maintenance. Thorough cleaning frequently helps keep away the harm causing dirt and dampness. Every once a while, give your mink or pink faux fur a good brushing along the natural lines with a soft bristled clothes brush. This will rid the fur of all the dust that tends to get attracted to the fur and keep your fur lustrous and shiny.

Remember to keep your mink faux fur products in a dry place. Moisture can ruin the piece. In fact, even though it is faux fur, you should try and avoid wearing it in the rains or in other wet conditions. The water can harm the fur beyond repair! A carefully maintained faux fur can last you a long time.

So, now you know how to get that million-dollar look with out actually spending the million dollars. Just get a mink and pink faux fur and wrap yourself up in its luxurious folds!

For the guys again

November 28th, 2008 by admin

The guys need not feel left out – after all pink is the new black – or so I have heard! You may have heard too that Wyclef Jean, the singer, owns a pink 1957 Cadillac lined with pink mink fur.

So, you may not be in the mood to own a pink car much less line it with pink mink but you could accessorize with pink mink faux fur! You need not go in for the bubblegum pink like the girls would but a subtle light pink or even a very deep bordering on the dark side and visible just a wee little bit!

Faux Fur Bedding Quality

November 7th, 2008 by admin

The prices vary according to the fineness and the work involved. You may find sometimes that the fur is coming off in your hands. This is not a good quality especially for faux fur bedding. You’ll be sleeping in these and if the hair sheds, it could cause all kinds of health hazards. So, go in for a good quality faux fur.

Typically the faux fur is made up of acrylic fibers that are so fine and stitched so well, it would take an expert to know that they are not original fur. Most manufacturers assure that the faux fur has the luxurious feel and the plush depth of the original. Usually the fur products have lining underneath specially those used against the human skin. These linings vary from satin to faux suede. They add to the soft and luxurious feel of the fur.

What you have to make sure is that this faux fur bedding is cleaned thoroughly. It isn’t a good idea to wash the pieces at home in your washing machine. Instead take them to a professional cleaner so that the fur is not damaged in any way. Keep them as dry as you can because water and moisture are not at all good for your faux fur.

As long as you maintain the faux fur bedding well, you will be assured of the fabulous feel and look of your purchase for years.
